WORLD BOOK DAY - MARCH 2010

Don't forget our "Sponsored Listen" during the week 1st to 5th March!  This is linked to Usborne Books to raise money for more books within the Nursery.  Please see the March Nursery News or pop into the office!

CONGRATULATIONS TO TESSA (AND DEAN)

Lorenzo finally arrived after 41 hours of labour when Tessa's water's broke 3 weeks early.  He weighed 6lb 4 1/2 oz arriving in the late hours of Thursday 28th January 2010.   Tessa and Lorenzo are doing well and should be out of hospital over the weekend.  He joins the family as a brother for Lucia - our warmest wishes go to them all!

SWINE FLU INFORMATION

WE CONTINUE TO ASK FOR SUPPORT FROM PARENTS AND STAFF BY:

  • Keeping contact details up to date
  • Staying away if you or family members have flu-like symptoms AND informing us as soon as possible of this.
  • Following government guidelines on hygiene
  • Work together with the Nursery by implementing a "NO RISK" policy - if your child has an unusually high temperature or presents flu-like symptoms please do not bring your child in

WE WILL CONTINUE TO FOLLOW OUR OPERATIONAL PLAN AND STRICT HYGIENE PROCEDURES REGARDING HANDWASHING AS WELL AS THE "CATCH IT, BIN IT, KILL IT" PROCEDURES AND:

  • Implementing hand sanitisers for anyone coming in through the front door
  • Removal of cuddly/soft toys in the short term, which could harbour bacteria
  • Isolate a child with unusually high temperatures or present flu-like symptoms unti a parent can collect them

DO YOU THINK YOUR CHILD HAS SWINE FLU?
Do they have a HIGH TEMPERATURE (38 or above)? and TWO of the following symptoms?

  • cough or shortness of breath
  • loss of appetite
  • aching muscles
  • chills
  • runny nose/sneezing
  • diarrhoea/vomiting
  • tiredness
  • limb or joint pain
  • sore throat
  • headache

IF SO DO NOT BRING THEM IN

OR YOUR GP if:

  • your child is under 12 months old
  • your child has underlying health problems
  • their condition is still getting worse after five days
